A NEW RELAXING BATHROOM SPACE

What should you consider when you want a new relaxing bathroom?

Embarking on a bathroom renovation is an exciting endeavour that offers the opportunity to transform one of the most essential spaces in your home. Whether you're seeking to enhance functionality, update outdated features, or simply revitalize the aesthetics, careful planning and consideration are key to achieving a successful outcome.

Every stage of the renovation process, from planning your design to choosing the best materials and design components, is essential to realizing your ideal bathroom. Throughout this process, it is critical to pay close attention to details, stick to financial restrictions, and concentrate on designing an area that suits your family's particular needs.

You know what you want but you're not sure where to start?

Functionality: Assess the needs of your family, including storage requirements, space for multiple users, and any special features like a bathtub for children or elderly accessibility options.

Budget: Determine a realistic budget for the renovation project, considering both materials and labour costs. Be prepared for unexpected expenses by allocating a contingency fund.

Layout: Optimize the layout to maximize space and efficiency. Consider factors such as the placement of fixtures, traffic flow, and the location of plumbing lines.

Ventilation: Ensure proper ventilation to prevent mould and mildew growth. Install a ventilation fan or window to promote air circulation and remove excess moisture.

Water Efficiency: Choose water-efficient fixtures such as low-flow toilets, faucets, and showerheads to conserve water and reduce utility bills.

Safety: Prioritize safety features such as slip-resistant flooring, grab bars in the shower or bathtub, and rounded edges on countertops to minimize the risk of accidents, especially for young children and seniors.

Lighting: Incorporate adequate lighting for tasks such as grooming and makeup application, as well as ambient lighting for overall illumination. Consider installing dimmer switches for adjustable lighting levels.
TOP TIP;  you can save a lot of money if you check out local suppliers for end of line, or ex-display bathroom furniture, including sinks, toilets, baths, showers, taps and shower fittings.

                     Preparing plaster board walls.

Finishing the floor screed.

A commissioned stain glass window to add a personal element.

I wanted something to add some brightness to this otherwise
dark corner because this window faces north.

Completed newly fitted suite and tiling.

After a lot of planning and hard work, you can have the bathroom you dream of.  We found this bathroom suite at a local supplier, it was ex-display and saved us over 50%!

I personally love the traditional English style bathroom, I also wanted some little inset shelfs for candles and my glass of fizz!

The hard work starts after all the planning and preparation.  As you advance, problems will inevitably arise; try not to worry too much. When everything comes together, you will feel extremely satisfied that you tried to solve the problems.

I firmly believe that the effort and disruption have been worthwhile.

You can now unwind in your new, tranquil bathroom.
