I enjoy trying new recipes, and this traditional French Apero cake comes from a friend who lives near Cognac. It is a savoury cake that is traditionally served as a snack alongside early evening drinks. I also like how simple it is to make, with all of the ingredients combined in a single bowl.

You'll need a loaf tin, baking paper or tin liner, measuring cup or scales, wooden spoon, whisk and knife.
Ingredients;
150g plain flour, 3 eggs, 1 cup oil, 1/2 cup milk, 200g grated cheese, 200g bacon lardons (cooked) or chopped ham, 100g green or black olives sliced, 1 x teaspoon baking powder, salt & pepper to season.
Method;
Beat together; eggs, oil & milk. Add all the other ingredients to this mixture, mix well and season. Pour mixture into a lined loaf tin. Bake in a medium oven approx 160/170c for 35-45 mins. Check with a knife, when it comes out clean, the cake is cooked.
